The Long Taloned and Strife Holder

i am so proud of how I drew dat Strife Holder owl. SO PROUD. LOOK AT IT!! anyways

This is a scene from one of my very very very unfinished books, that I wrote quiittee awhile ago XD someday I shall add to it cause it is groovy.
Anyways, don't really feel like explaining the whole "The Long Clawed and Taloned"...just see them as good, protectors of the lands, and the Strife Holders, they are evil. Pure evil, raised in evil. Anyways, in this scene Latchet (similar to a Great Horned owl, but she isn't XD and she is a long taloned) is battling a Strife Holder eagle owl. At this point of the battle Latchet had clawed out one of his eyes, which bled out purpilish blue blood. Then he stayed in place in the air, and began to breathe very heavily. Thunder, a kitten at this time (and is a Long Clawed) was with her, and peered over her head to see what was happening. Startled and shocked at what he saw. Latchet began to viciously sway her head back in forth as the Strife Holder began to breath louder and heavier. He was using dark-magic here. 
Here's the part of that scene, forgive me for how terrible it sounds...written when I was way young XD (also in Thunder's perspective)
"You really should shut your beak now, I'm warning you," Latchet sneered. And warned him well. He opened his beak a small bit and she snatched out his eye. One of the most odd sights I have ever seen. The blood that ozzed from his socket was of a purple-blue hue. He then began to breathe heavily and Latchet viciously swayed her head back and forth.
    "Latchet?" I was worried. Dark magic I thought. The breathing became louder. He seemed to be sucking out my life. It was horrible. I started to weaken. I could barley keep my eyes open. 
    "HOW DARE YOU!"  A screech boomed. Then in a flash I saw a big tom. My sight blackened out."
